Prompt Mastery

Failing to plan means planning to fail.

A detailed business plan helps you not only in reaching your goals but also in clarifying them in the first place.

Plus, it’s an essential asset for attracting partners and investors.

However, writing a business plan from scratch can be difficult if you are not sure what to include.

In the prompt below, all of the relevant variables are prepared for you to produce the first two sections of your business plan:

• The Executive Summary

• Business Overview

All you need to do is insert the information requested, copy the whole prompt into your chosen AI model, and you will have the first part of your professionally written, business plan.

In next week's issue, we will show you how to use the results to produce the Sales, Operations and Financial Planning sections.

After that, your business plan will be 100% complete!

P.S. Remember that other people will read this document, so be as honest and clear as you can when completing the information.

Your role is to act as an expert writer of a business plan for my business. I will provide you with information about my business, from which you will create the first two sections of my business plan.

The first section is the Executive Summary. Here is the information you need:

My business is called [name] and it offers [type of products or services you offer] to [your target audience]. It makes money by [explain your revenue model]. This business is in a good position because [explain elements of the business that make it relevant right now] and our revenue or cash position is [describe your financial position]. So far, we have [outline achievements so far] and we plan to [include your plans for the future].

Craft a short executive summary that transforms that information into a clear and concise description for the first page of my business plan. Adopt a tone that is [describe the tone you want for your business plan, for example, professional and direct].

The second section is the Business Overview. Please write this to include sections titled [edit as appropriate: goals, the market, target audience, products and services, route to market]. 

Here is the information you need for this section:

Our business goals are [explain your top 3 business goals] within [timeframe for achieving them and exit plan]. We serve [demographics of your specific target audience] and solve their problem of [describe their top problems that your business addresses]. Our offering consists of [describe your product or services], which [add more information about them], and our revenue model is [go into more detail on how you make money]. Use the same tone of voice as the last section.
